Tiger Climb
This optional activity runs from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on day two of Summer Welcome. The purpose of Tiger Climb is to meet your fellow incoming students in a fun environment. Students will climb the Alpine Tower, which is a 60-foot climbing tower. This isn’t a climbing wall or indoor rock gym. The Alpine Tower is designed to provide a fun time for people of all climbing backgrounds. Never climbed before? That’s ok, the Tower has a route for you. Are you an experienced climber? Great, it’s got a challenge for you too. For more information about the Tower visit: ventureout.missouri.edu/mysummit.
Space is limited and an additional $30 fee is required for your Alpine Tower experience. Participation in Tiger Climb is limited to students only. Parents and guests are welcome to watch under our pavillion but climbing is limited only to students.
If you are interested in attending Tiger Climb, check session 2, 7, 12 or 17 on the online registration form and complete the section on Tiger Climb. Attendees should bring a water bottle and come dressed for an afternoon of exciting mental and physical challenges. If you have any questions regarding Tiger Climb, contact Venture Out at 573-882-8585 or ventureout.missouri.edu.
Fraternity Recruitment-Males ONLY
Fraternities are one of the best ways to shrink a large campus like Mizzou, by providing brotherhood, networking, service, academic support and social events. Participation in formal recruitment will give you the opportunity to meet men from each of the 29 Interfraternity Council (IFC) fraternities. Formal recruitment is a three day mutual selection process in which male students will have the opportunity to meet with chapter members, ask questions, and meet other prospective members interested in Greek Life.
To register for formal recruitment, go to greeklife.missouri.edu and follow the appropriate links. Formal recruitment costs $145, which includes meals and lodging. This additional fee is payable directly to Greek Life via the recruitment links on greeklife.missouri.edu. DEADLINE to register will be June 21st (NO exceptions).
If you are interested in attending IFC Formal Recruit, Summer Welcome Session’s 18 or 20 are recommended, especially for students from out-of-state who want to minimize travel expenses. If you are unable to attend this session, you will still be able to sign up and participate in formal recruitment. (It is not mandatory that you come to Session’s 18 or 20, it is an travel saving option for out-of-state students.)
