Introduction to summer reading program

Please arrive no later than 8:30 a.m on day one.  Day one of Summer Welcome begins at approximately 9 a.m. and ends at approximately 11 p.m. for students.  Students and parents each attend a variety of programs throughout the day and we encourage parents and guests to eat all meals with their students in campus dining facilities.
Students must be present on day one to participate in day two activities.  Day two begins around 8 a.m. and all activities should be completed by 2 p.m.

Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing because the two day Summer Welcome sessions are filled with a lot of fun group activities as well as walking around campus to visit classrooms, dining facilities, and residence halls.  We suggest checking our travel page for the local forecast to help you plan, but keep in mind that Missouri weather can change quickly and it is always good to be prepared for all types of weather.

On-Campus housing is provided for all students during Summer Welcome in an air-conditioned campus residence hall for $24 a night.  The overnight stay during this two-day program provides students with a valuable opportunity to begin the process of meeting other students after the day’s official activities have ended.
