What quote do you live by?
“When a child is learning how to walk and falls down 50 times, they never think to themselves, ‘Maybe this isn’t for me.’”
I love quotes!! This one has been my favorite lately because it focuses on perseverance and being motivated to overcome any obstacle, even if it feels like you aren’t getting anywhere.
How do you make Mizzou your home?
Invest time in connecting with the people you are surrounded with. Mizzou is made up of a lot of people moving in a ton of different directions. Making Mizzou home is about finding your people and your passion. Definitely getting involved at Mizzou outside of just your immediate friend groups and classes will lead you to find those organizations and programs that will make Mizzou your home.
How was your transition process into Mizzou from high school?
Coming to Mizzou was definitely a culture shock for me! I’m from right outside Philly, so it was a different part of the country with different kinds of people, accents and dialects. People who grew up out here just have different life experiences than I’ve had. The transition was easy for me though because of the support from my family back home, but also from my interest in wanting to learn and share this Mizzou experience with such a diverse student body.
What is your favorite spot on campus? Why?
My favorite spot on campus is the Rec! It is a great place to unwind and burn off some energy during those crazy weeks. When the pool is open, it is the sunniest and happiest place on earth.
What is your favorite dining hall and why?
Definitely Dobbs. Having brunch on a lazy Sunday afternoon with all your friends is good for your soul.
