What excites you the most about being a 2020 Summer Welcome Leader?
Getting to be the person welcoming people to Mizzou and helping them make the transition from wherever they came from—whether that be high school, a different university, or community college. I’m also really excited to be working with my fellow Summer Welcome Leaders because I honestly think every single one of them is royalty in their own right.
How was your transition process into Mizzou from high school?
I came from a private school in Kansas City and it was a culture shock because Mizzou is so much bigger. And it allowed me to make a lot of friends that looked like me and could relate to my experience. I really found that the CASE Summer Bridge Program really helped me because it was a small group of people learning about Mizzou and different places on campus, and it made the fall semester so much easier than it would have been if I didn’t.
