  • If you could do anything with your life, what would you do?

TRAVEL! My best experiences have come from exploring new places and learning about new friends. I would visit every single country in the world. Right now I’ve been to four, so that’s a start…

  • What brought you to Mizzou?

Mizzou wasn’t on my radar at first. I visited on a whim and fell in love. I saw an enthusiasm for Mizzou in everyone I met, and Columbia felt like home.

  • What excites you the most about being a 2016 Summer Welcome Leader?

What makes me excited about being a Summer Welcome Leader is the opportunity to watch new students fall in love with the university the way I have for the past two years. I’m excited to watch others get excited about coming to my favorite place. Mizzou is one of the best things to ever happen to me, and I know it will be the same for new students. I can’t wait to help other students realize that Mizzou will shortly become their home the same way my Summer Welcome Leader did for me. There’s a place for everyone at Mizzou, and I want new students to know that.

  • How do you make Mizzou your home?

The people I’ve met have made Mizzou home for me. When you’re far away from your family, your new friends become your family. Home isn’t a place to me. Home is people, and I have met some of the best people at Mizzou.

  • How was your transition process into Mizzou from high school?

The transition process was difficult for me at first because I’m from a really small town. I was looking to be part of a group that was just like my high school friend group. I didn’t realize at first that college is about growing and figuring out who you truly are. It’s all about finding your niche. I found a group of friends who accept me as I am and challenge me to grow.
