How was your transition process into Mizzou from high school?

I was very nervous about college, especially the thought of living five hours away from my family. I didn’t jump right into extracurriculars because I wanted to focus on my academics and allow myself to adjust to college.

I enjoyed my freshman year, but not nearly as much as I thought I would. It wasn’t until my sophomore year, when I joined a couple of organizations on campus, that I really felt like I completed the transition.

I realized later that it is completely okay to take more time to adjust to college. It is a HUGE life change and every pace is the right pace. Now I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else!

What would your life’s theme song be and why?

“Lean on Me” by Bill Withers is my life’s theme song! We all need a support system to get through this crazy thing called life. I want to be someone people can count on when they ‘need somebody to lean on’! When we all support each other, no one falls down.
