  • If you could do anything with your life, what would you do?

My one goal in life is to get my PhD in Clinical Psychology and work for a Children’s Hospital somewhere on the East Coast. I think it would be a very rewarding job in being able to help children and their families cope with a variety of medical issues. I was born in the Baltimore area and love the East Coast for its beaches and major cities!

  •  What brought you to Mizzou?

What brought me to Mizzou was the fact that this University offers every program I could possibly be interested in. We have so many strong programs on campus that I felt confident in choosing a University that would cater to me no matter how many times I changed my mind.  There’s something really special about a place that you can find little pieces of yourself and your interests in, and Mizzou is that place for me.

  • How do you make Mizzou your home?

I make Mizzou home by being involved in as many different areas of campus as possible. I’m involved in Greek Life, Mizzou Alternative Breaks, Green Dot and now Summer Welcome! I love being able to make friends from all different backgrounds who all have different goals. College is all about expanding your world and staying involved helps me to make Mizzou feel like expanding your world isn’t so intimidating.

  • How was your transition process into Mizzou from high school?

My transition process into Mizzou from high school was not all cupcakes and sprinkles. Being 6 hours away from home and my family was really hard for me. I had never even been to sleep away summer camp let alone over 300 miles from my family. I was lucky enough to go through recruitment for Greek Life, specifically PHA, and instantly have a group of friends by Bid Day. It can be hard to put yourself out there and even introduce yourself to a stranger. Coming from a small high school of 1000 kids to a campus like Mizzou was exciting and intimidating but there are so many resources, opportunities and events for you to make friends and connections that all of the stress surrounding a transition eventually goes away.

  • If you had a theme song to describe yourself, what would it be and why?

My theme song would be “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears. I think this song describes how I view life a lot of time. I don’t have any plans for world domination but I do want to “make the most of freedom and of pressure” because “nothing ever lasts forever.” And it’s a total 1980s jam.
