What is your favorite Mizzou memory?

My favorite Mizzou memory was the Homecoming game in 2019. Faurot Field was packed to the brim and I got chills when the students yelled MIZ in unison and the alumni section echoed ZOU back.

How did you make Mizzou your home?

I made Mizzou my home by finding community in different organizations across campus. My first step to making Mizzou my home was practically moving into the Multicultural Center. From there, I learned of the Women of Color Retreat, where I met a plethora of my current friends and learned of the Diversity Peer Educators program.

The trip, paired with the guidance of my Summer Welcome Leader, gave me a starting point to find and become involved in different organizations across campus. I eventually found community through MAPS, the Refuge Campus Ministry, Mizzou Black Women’s Initiative, IMSD-EXPRESS, and my scholarship cohort. I even became a student worker for the Multicultural Center, a natural progression due to my time at the center. All of these things led me to my newest home and community on campus, Summer Welcome, which has been an amazing experience to bond with other leaders across campus as we strive to welcome the class of 2024 with joy and enthusiasm.
