How to: Summer Welcome

Welcome Tigers! We’re so glad you’re here.

Summer Welcome takes place online this year to keep you and your family safe. Read on for a step-by-step guide to make the most of your experience.

First Things First

Register for Summer Welcome Online if you haven’t already.

The dates you’ll attend Summer Welcome haven’t changed from what you signed up for. To find your dates, click “Register for Orientation” in the left hand navigation menu (or bottom of this page if you’re on your phone) and log back into the registration form.

To make things easy, you can find all the resources, videos and activities for Summer Welcome in one place: Summer Welcome Headquarters (SWHQ). Check the schedule for a list of flexible and required times and activities.

Before Summer Welcome


Complete all tasks in the Pre-Orientation Task Center on MizzouOne.

One week before

You’ll receive an email with additional details about Summer Welcome and what to expect.

Two days before

You’ll receive an email with a personalized link to access Summer Welcome Headquarters (SWHQ). Use this link from now on, even if you’ve visited previously.

You can start watching the videos in the Pre-Orientation Tasks and Post-Orientation Resources section of SWHQ.

You can also view the videos in the Day One Sessions section. Live Chat Q&A sessions for these topics will take place on Day One.


Day One

How to access SWHQ

Students: to make sure you have access to all the correct sessions, you must access SWHQ by clicking the personalized link in your email. Parents can use the SWHQ button at the top of this page.

Morning sessions

View the videos in the Day One Session section of SWHQ.

Attend the Live Chat Q&A sessions at 10:15 and 10:40 a.m. Find the link to join in Today’s Events at the top of the SWHQ page.

Mandatory sessions

Learn who your Summer Welcome Leader is, and meet them and your classmates at 11:10 a.m. (parents may attend the Parent and Families Panel).

If you’ve been admitted to the Honors College, attend the Honors College Orientation at 11:45 a.m. You must access this session with your personalized link.

Attend Division Orientation at 1 p.m. You must access this session with your personalized link.

Check your MU-assigned email at the end of the day to see tomorrow’s assigned advising time. Look for a subject line like “IMPORTANT: Your Advising Appointment Time & Location.”


Day Two

Advising Appointment

Make sure you’ve downloaded Zoom and activated your University of Missouri Zoom account ahead of time.

Your appointment time and instructions for accessing your advising appointment are in the email you received at the end of Day One in your MU-assigned email inbox.

Career Center office hours

Dates: Open office hours, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday-Friday

Career Center is eager to help new Tigers with student employment, career and major exploration and all your career-related questions. We will have a session to speak with new students on Day One of Summer Welcome and throughout the summer. Learn more at
