Pre-Advising Questionnaire

Answer academic questions about your major and interests to help your academic advisor plan for your advising appointment. This form is available on your checklist starting March 15.

Academic Advising Appointment Preference Form

Your advising appointment can take place virtually or in person, and the length and content of your meeting will be the same in either format. So if you live far away from campus, you will not miss out on anything by choosing a virtual appointment. Just choose whatever works best for you!

On this form, you’ll choose an in-person or virtual appointment and answer questions about your preferred appointment date/time. Your academic advisor will email you within five business days of completing this form. Note: if you choose in-person advising, your appointment will not take place during your orientation session. You will need to visit campus on a separate day for advising. Transfer students can fill out this form starting April 1, and freshmen can fill it out starting May 1.

Pre-Orientation and Pre-Advising Course

Yes, you have your first course to complete! You’ll get important information to prepare for your orientation session and your advising appointment. You’ll access the course through your checklist on the reservations site. The course opens for Transfer students on April 1 and for freshmen on May 1.

Your Advising Appointment

You’ll meet with your academic advisor in a one-on-one appointment and register for courses. For transfer students, your advising appointment will take place between April 11 and July 31. For freshman, your advising appointment will take place between May 23 and July 31. Once it’s scheduled, you’ll be able to view your appointment date and time on your checklist.

You are expected to attend this appointment. If you can’t make it, you’ll need to contact your advisor to reschedule. Your new appointment will likely be later in the summer.

Look for specific information in your MU email about 2-3 days before your assigned appointment time. For in-person advising appointments, the email will include check-in locations and parking details. For virtual appointments, the email will include a Zoom link.

Your Orientation Session

On the day you’ve reserved in June or July, you’ll join other new Tigers to get a sense of what life will be like at Mizzou. Learn more and see a sample schedule on the Summer Welcome Orientation & Advising page.
