Who would you say is/are your role model(s)? Why?
My biggest role model would be my parents (Hi Mom! Hi Dad!) because they shaped me into the combination of undying optimist and strategic planner that I am today. Without them, I would literally not be here!
What is your favorite spot on campus? Why?
My favorite spot on campus (and it has been for four years already) is behind the Anheuser-Busch/Natural Resources Building and Bond Life sciences to the left and right of the tree. The reason is because it shows human’s capacity for laziness. There is the sidewalk (to the right of the tree) and a path of dirt that has been stomped out by students (to the left of the tree). It doesn’t really have any sentimental value, I just enjoy it every time I pass it and it has been my favorite spot on campus ever since I went here for the first time (my sophomore year of high school for a music camp).
If you had a theme song to describe yourself, what would it be and why?
The theme to Paganini’s Fifth Violin Concerto in A minor is what I most identify with. It’s a powerful violin theme that exemplifies strength and power with a tinge of remorse. Plus it’s just an amazing piece to hear performed live.
What quote do you live by?
“tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther…So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.” – F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby It’s my favorite book, and it exemplifies how tomorrow will be better but still a repetition of the past. I interpret that as it’ll be a positive repetition of the success in the past.
What is your favorite dining hall and why?
Is this even a question? Dobbs is where the variety lies. They don’t have any fries but they have home-cooked chips and it’s close to Greektown which is very convenient. Also, the Diet Pepsi nozzle on the side closes to Laws/Lathrop has more syrup usually in it so it’s really good!
