What advice do I have for incoming students:
I would tell incoming Mizzou students to be vulnerable. Although it may seem difficult at first, being vulnerable with friends truly deepens those connections. Not only will this deepen your friendships, talking about your feelings will also in turn make you feel better. When you come to Mizzou, you will have so many great friends and connections, but that can’t happen until you fully open up and be yourself!
My favorite Mizzou memory:
One of my favorite Mizzou memories was closing down Plaza 900 every Thursday last year. I would eat dinner with a small group of friends, and it served as a chance to debrief, decompress, and relate to other first year students when we were all undergoing a great sense of change. We always ended up having so much fun that we would unintentionally stay until one of the members of staff had to remind us that they were now closed!
