My advice for incoming students:

Immerse yourself, immerse yourself, immerse yourself. Mizzou is full of opportunity, with so much to do on campus and countless resources available to help turn your ideas into reality. Let your curiosity guide you and give yourself permission to try new things. When I arrived on campus, I joined Freshman Action Team, which allowed me to meet incredible people and make a meaningful impact in my community, but that is only one facet of what this university has offered me. I assumed the theater kid in me would fade once I got to college, but instead I found myself participating in Mizzou Playwrights and continuing to grow creatively. At Mizzou, opportunity will fall into your lap if you are open to it, so say yes, step outside your comfort zone, and do not be afraid to explore. Let your curiosity lead and you will be surprised where it takes you.

My favorite spot on campus:

My favorite spot is the dusty window in the stairwell in Gentry Hall. It has enough space to sit down and get cozy. On snow days I will sometimes walk to Gentry Hall and bring a small throw pillow so I can sit and read while the snow falls.
