Why are you excited for Summer Welcome:
I am most excited about the opportunity to create a welcoming and supportive environment for incoming students. As someone who understands how overwhelming the transition to college can feel, especially coming out of state, I look forward to being a friendly and reliable resource that helps new students feel comfortable, confident, and excited about their journey at Mizzou. I also want people of color to see and know they will have others here that look like them, and a good community to rely on. I am especially excited to build genuine connections, share my own experiences, and help students find their place on campus. Summer Welcome is such a meaningful first impression, and I would love to contribute to making that experience positive, memorable, and encouraging for every student.
My favorite spot on campus:
My favorite spot on campus is definitely the Rec Center or Memorial Union. I literally live at the Rec as I am a workoutahlolic, a cycle instructor, and love the pilates classes. I definitely spend most of my time on campus (other than class) at the rec. I also love Memorial because they have good study areas, food, and good times to just catch up with friends. I find myself also spending a lot of time there as well in between classes, and to meet up with friends or study. I like how it is a mix of a social but also quiet place at the same time. It is also a good place to people watch, if that is something someone is into.
